Sweden new world hockey champions after beating Canada


Sweden won the World Hockey Championship after beating Canada in a penalty shoot-out.

Playing in Cologne, Sweden and Canada tied the final match 1:1, after which the penalties were ordered. The Swedes scored in their first two attempts, while the Canadians missed, and the match was set. This is the 10th title for Sweden, while Canada holds 26. In the match to decide the bronze medasl winner, Russia beat Finland 5:3.
