The Macedonian Lion Brandon Tanev of the Winnipeg Jets scored his first goal in his very young NHL career.
In the game yesterday versus the Detroit Red Wings Tanev made two important scores for his team and his career - it was number one and number two in his personal statistics. He scored twice in the third period vs the Red Wings. Tanev tied the game 3-3 with 7:36 left in the third period, and then made it 4-3 on a breakaway with 1:16 to go.
"The atmosphere here in the building, first time playing in Joe Louis and obviously scoring my first goal, was something incredible, something I'll remember for a long time," Tanev said.
Tanev, 24, was an undrafted free agent the Jets signed out of Providence College on March 30. He had one assist in 14 NHL games.
