Balkan Hockey League confirmed!

The speculations about a new Balkan Hockey League in our last post is partly confirmed. One of the leading macedonian newspapers Novamakedonija published an article regarding the new league.

The Hockey Federation of Macedonia will introduce a Balkan Hockey League, firstly with the first division containing four teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia. The league will be played in a tournament form where all teams host one tournament and the final tournament will be played in Skopje. The first tournament will be played december 11-13 when in Skopje will compete according IIHF rules Vukovi Sarajevo (BiH), Slavia Sofia (Bug), Spartak Subotica (Srb) and Metalurg Skopje (Mkd).
The league also will have a main sponsor (a regional marketing company) which name will be revealed later and we guess the name of the sponsor will appear in the league's name.

Not confirmed so far is the second division where should appear also four teams as it was said Vardar Skopje from Macedonia, Iraklis Thessaloniki from Greece and two teams from Bulgaria.
